More Than a name
OUR NAME IS OUR MISSION
We exist to point to the best “Vantage Point” on life's most important truths:
- Who God is
- Who We Are Because Of Who He is
- How We Are Called To Live As A Result
We believe that Jesus himself is the right and best vantage point for life!
Our hope is to lead people to find this God given vantage point—the position by which they can best see and understand His love, their worth, and their calling in this world. When people gain this perspective, it transforms not just how they see, but how they live!
What We Believe
GOD
There is only one God.
This God exists and has always existed as three Persons—Father, Son, and Spirit. The Father, Son, and Spirit are not merely three manifestations or roles of one Person, but are three eternally-coexistent and eternally-distinct persons. Each share the same nature, essence, and being; in other words, each is God. He has made all things and has complete power and sovereignty over them.
Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14; Luke 3:21,22; John 1:1-5, Isaiah 46:9,10
God the Father
(Genesis 1:1; John 4:24; Galatians 3:26)
God the Son (Jesus Christ)
(John 1:1-14; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 1:23; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 2 Timothy 4:1)
God the Holy Spirit
(John 16:7-14; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in its original writings.
It is the supreme authority for Christian faith and practice.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105)
HUMANITY
We believe humans are created in God's image but have fallen into sin.
As a result:
(Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3; John 14:6)
SALVATION
Salvation is God's free gift, received through faith in Jesus Christ.
It includes:
We believe salvation is eternally secure and cannot be lost.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; John 6:44; Romans 8:1; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 8:29-30; John 10:28-29)
We believe in water baptism by immersion for believers. Baptism is a public declaration of faith and obedience to Christ's command.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41; Romans 6:3-4)
We believe the Holy Spirit is active and moving in this world and the church. He gives spiritual gifts to all believers for building up the Church and the advancement of the gospel of Jesus. We affirm that all spiritual gifts described in the Bible continue today. These gifts are given to be used in love to serve others, glorify God, and build his church.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Romans 12:6-8; 1 Peter 4:10-11)
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, consisting of all believers. The local church is a community of believers who gather for worship, teaching, fellowship, and service.
(Ephesians 1:22-23; Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25)
We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to earth. There will be a final judgment, resulting in eternal life with God for believers or eternal separation from God for unbelievers.
(Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16; Revelation 20:11-15; Matthew 25:46
We believe in the Great Commission—that all believers are called to share the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14-15)
