Lead Pastor / Teaching Pastor
Dustin Jones grew up in the big city of Texarkana, TX. (Not to be confused with the Arkansas side.) From the time that Dustin was born he was being raised in the truth of Jesus and attending First Baptist Church, Texarkana regularly with his family. At the age of 9 he gave his life to Jesus and was baptized. Dustin graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelors in Sociology. He then got his Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Student Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dustin felt the call of God on his life to be a Student Pastor at the age of 16. When he was 18 years old he surrendered to the ministry and began working with students helping them to understand what it meant to live as a follower of Jesus. The bulk of Dustin’s ministry was done under Pastor Bob Roberts, founder and Lead Pastor of NorthWood Church in Keller, TX. It was here that Dustin was challenged early on with the thought of Church Planting.
After 10 years of ministry at NorthWood Dustin moved his family to Colorado to work with a church there that NorthWood had planted. After their time in the mountains, Dustin and his family moved again, this time to Austin, TX. The thought of this move was to start a church. Little did he know that his time here was to work under Pastor Brian Lightsey, founder and Lead Pastor of Life Church in Leander, TX, to get ready for their journey back to Keller-Haslet to plant Vantage Point Church.
Dustin enjoys reading church growth, theology, and Ted Dekker books, being on the lake, skiing in the mountains, fishing, shooting guns, and going on bike rides with his kids.
