Identity and Values
Who we are
Vantage Point Church exists for the Glory of God, seeing lives changed (one step at a time) and disciples made (that make disciples).
Vantage Point is a church in Haslet / Fort Worth, TX, that loves Jesus, His Word, one another and wants to see their community and world transformed through sharing and living out the message of the Gospel of Jesus.
We are more than a church to simply attend. We are a community of Jesus followers who are striving to be more like Christ and less like the world. We desire to see God’s mission unfold – to manifest his glory and fame throughout the earth. (Habakuk 2:14 14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.)
It is the message Jesus proclaimed (referenced nearly 100 times in Matthew, Mark, and Luke). It is the reality Jesus embodied. His teaching makes it the priority of our prayers, our personal lives, and all our ministry endeavors. We are to “seek first the Kingdom of God.” It is a key to understanding personal and city transformation.
Our charge is to fully utilize all that has been made possible for us by Christ (the new accessibility of the Kingdom) to affect change in ourselves and our society to more explicitly align with the values of God’s Kingdom. We really want His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth just as it is being done in heaven right now.
If we’re going to see real transformation in our communities and globally, everybody has to be in the game. Each disciple has gifts and skills that can make a difference when mobilized for the good of others. Their job is their ministry and has the potential to open doors at the local and global level.
Three Rhythms combine to help create a culture of disciple-making that leads to personal and community transformation. These three rhythms: CHRIST, COMMUNITY, CAUSE (Up, In, Out), must be practiced simultaneously for a disciple to have a transforming influence.
Underlying this model is the conviction that through Christ, God is reconciling all things to himself.
VP’s Mandate
Worship
God is ONE and the function of our new lives in Jesus is to bring everything in our lives, both individual and corporate, underneath the rule and reign of God. For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever (Romans 11:36). To this end, we believe that all of life is from God, through God, and to God, for his glory. Therefore, true holiness means that we bring all of life under the Kingship of Jesus. This is what true worship is all about; loving God with everything – our hearts, souls, and minds.

Discipleship
It is the heartbeat of our church to be a sending and going church. In the Great Commission, Jesus tells us that we are to GO and make disciples. In 2 Corinthians 5 Paul tells us that as “new creations” we are ministers of God’s reconciliation and that “we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us” to those around us. The problem is that the churches tend to simply stay-put and create a “safe place” for their people to gather and simply do church. We don’t want to simply gather, but in all our gatherings we want to scatter in-order-to make disciples of all nations and all people. We believe this is done through the missional work of the church as we serve the world as one body with specific focus and as each individual of the body sees their role to live missional by:
- Living
- Giving
- Serving
- Sharing

Community Life
God called the church to be saints together, and he created us to live in community with one another. However, that community was not designed for you, but you were designed for the community, and then ultimately the community for the world. It is in community, as the body, that we are able to Love God with all of who we are while living out our mission of equipping one another, building up the body for the work of the ministry, and living on mission. We believe that living in community together is the clearest picture of what being a follower of Jesus is really about – Disciples who worship God, living in community and engage the world with the gospel!
